Whats on Dub’s playlist this week? Well this week, we’re going old school. For years, I’ve been a huge Waylon Jennings fan. So this week on the playlist, its all about Waylon! I love classic country, as I’m sure most of you do too. Theres something about those old songs that will just honestly never get old. The fact that we still play them, and talk about them today proves that.
When I first started working for Kicks99 we used to run a show called Retro Country USA. It would play Sunday nights from 9-11pm. I was the one who ran the board for the show. What that means is, I changed the segments on the show and played the local commercials. But every Sunday night for two hours I was surrounded by classic country, and I loved it!
I think that was really the first time I was exposed to Waylon Jennings. I loved his sound, and his songwriting. There had to be more Waylon in my life. So I went and bought an Essential Waylon Jennings CD. Well that just wasn’t enough, so I went and found a Waylon boxed set. Waylon has always, and will always be on my playlist.
