Homeless Mother Reunites With Her Dog
Grab the tissues. As a dog lover, this story is absolutely heartbreaking… But thankfully, it has a good ending when a homeless mother reunites with her dog.
According to CBS News, a Chattanooga-based animal shelter took in a stray dog. While taking in animals isn’t uncommon for a shelter, this one was a little different. She came with a note.
Apparently someone found the dog in a neighborhood, and when the team went out to get her, that’s when they saw the note.
The team at the animal shelter were extremely heartbroken about the note, and could tell the dog was well cared for and loved. That’s when they took to social media, in hopes of contacting the owner.

It didn’t take too long before the shelter got a call from Lilo’s mom. And when the homeless woman reunites with her dog… there wasn’t a dry eye in the building. Her kids were also extremely excited too.

Thankfully, this animal shelter works to provide resources for families who may struggle to keep their pets due to the cost. And for this woman, they are working to help her find pet-friendly housing too.
As a dog owner, the thought of having to make that horrible decision breaks my heart. I know I would do everything I could to keep them, but in the end would want them to live a good life. I’m so glad this woman was reunited with her dog and is getting the help she needs to provide not just for the dog, but for her two kids as well!
