So how long should the perfect nap be? Well according to CNBC, it should be 20-30 minutes. Thats all?! Just 20-30 minutes? CNBC talked to a psychologist that specializes in "behavioral sleep medicine and they said 20-30 minutes is the sweet spot. According to them, if you sleep longer than 30 minutes, you can wake up feeling groggy.

This psychologist said that a 20-30 minute nap helps give you a boost in energy, helps you focus and improves your mood. She also recommended that you set an alarm, and not allow yourself to sleep past 30 minutes. Another thing this psychologist recommends is don't nap too late in the day.  She says not to nap less than eight or nine hours before your normal bedtime.  For most people, that means no naps after 2:00 PM or so.

Now as someone who makes naps a regular part of their day (I wake up at 3:30 don't judge me). I think that 30 minutes is the minimum that you should nap. Anything less than that, did you even nap? According to a nap expert, AKA me, if you have the time to nap just lay down and see what happens from there.

I will set an alarm, but its only to make sure I'm up by the time I need to be. For me about an hour is the perfect nap. That is if its uninterrupted by a phone call, the dogs barking or someone ringing the doorbell (thankfully that one doesn't happen often).
