Aiken County Investigating After Man Found Shot In A Ditch
An investigation is underway in Aiken County after a man was found shot multiple times. Deputies responded to a call just have 1 p.m. in Tuesday afternoon. They were called to Kitchings Road near Old Barnwell Road. Someone passing through the area saw a Black male in the ditch.
The victim was 24-year-old Jarvon Stapleton of Stonecrest, Georgia. He had been shot multiple times. He was transported to Augusta University Medical Center, but was pronounced dead around 4:30 p.m.
An autopsy is scheduled for Friday in Newberry, South Carolina. There are no details or possible suspects known at this point. The Aiken County Coroner’s Office and Sheriff’s Office are investigating. This is a developing story.
