I remember the day like it was 10 minutes ago. I hopped on the scales and I saw the number. 272 pounds. That's almost as much as my truck weighs, I said to myself.

That was my turning point. My Weight Loss Journey. I knew if I got to 300, it would be a lot more difficult to get started. I know me and I don't have the best willpower. I love food and enjoy a cold beer or two and I was finally at a place where I knew I had to do something about it.

Slowly

My co-worker had lost a lot of weight and I started talking to him about his journey. Shout out to Anthony! Low carb is what he was doing. Now, I've done low carb before and lost weight quickly and gained it right back. This time I knew it had to be different. Not losing 30 pounds a month, but slowly like 2-3 pounds a week. I knew if I did it slow, it was something I could stick with.....and I did.

Pizza!

I did serious low carb for about a month and then started satisfying my cravings for carbs on a limited basis. A hamburger here and there. Pizza on Friday night and then back to low carb the next day.

It worked and continues to work for me. I will eat what I want when the urge hits, but I find I can't eat as much. I'm always thinking about what I eat and when I want to reward myself.

God's Sugar

My go to quick low carb lunch is Chick-fil-A.  Grilled 12 count nuggets, a fruit cup and a cup of water. I know low carb says no fruit, because of sugar, but fruit is God's sugar. If he made it, it can't be all that bad is the way I think and it's just a cup a couple of times a week.

My Goal

I was 272 and my goal was 225. Now I am at 214 and trying to maintain. I honestly feel better than I've ever felt, and walking is not hard anymore. I'm not winded and I can walk 4-5 miles without dying.

If I Can...

It worked for me and I believe it did because it took almost a year to get it off. It has become habit now. If you're struggling with weight, I feel you, it's hard, but you can do it. If I can, anybody can.

If you're changing your eating habits to lose weight.....congratulations and Good luck!
