National Pet Day – Celebrate With Cody’s Pups!
When I saw it was National Pet Day… I knew I couldn’t let the day go by without celebrating. You know that I’m a huge pet lover. I have my two pups at home that are my babies. While they can drive me crazy, I wouldn’t have it any other way! You may remember, back in early March, I had to have my oldest dog put to sleep due to age and health issues. That was the hardest thing I ever had to do, and I still miss him like crazy. There will never be another dog that could replace him, but my other two are just as loved. And I’m thankful for them both because they continue to bring me joy, even on those hard days!
Cody’s Pups
Harley, now the oldest, will turn 7 years old on April 25th. She recently gave us quite a scare with her health. She had a few seizures and some GI issues. After another vet visit yesterday, we’re hoping to have narrowed down the trigger and can help prevent more seizures. This girl is the absolute sweetest girl… at almost 90 pounds, she still thinks she’s a lap dog! She loves to snuggle her mama (and her daddy when he lets her up with him) whether we’re in the recliner or in the bed. She also loves to go for her walk each morning, loves getting treats, and absolutely loves chasing after a ball. Even though she can look a little intimidating, she is a big old ball of love!
Waylon is the baby… and he is something else. You might remember David found him on his job site and was so skinny and covered in ticks. He’s come a LONG way since September. We think he’s around 8 or 9 months old. He’s over 60 pounds now! I still call him “Bitty Butt” though. He is full of energy, loves to annoy his sister, will only snuggle with mama in bed, absolutely LOVES food, and has the puppy eyes mastered.
