I-20 Eastbound Traffic Shift This Weekend
This weekend workers will shift lanes on the Eastbound side of I-20 onto the new Savannah River and Augusta Canal bridges. The work will take place Saturday night into Sunday morning.
This shift will require single lane closures Thursday through Saturday nights while new striping and barrier wall relocation is underway.
Work should be completed by Sunday morning by 9 am.
Here is the complete schedule:
- 9 p.m. April 20 to 6 a.m. April 21: One westbound left lane closed
- 10 p.m. April 21 to 8 a.m. April 22: One westbound left lane closed
- 10 p.m. April 22 to 9 a.m. April 23: One eastbound left lane closed
For the next few months, that highway will begin to look a bit different as former structures are demolished and reconstructed.
Remember this month is Work Zone Awareness Week, so be cautious when going through the construction areas from the weekend, forward.
