Dub’s Playlist This Week- Black Stone Cherry

What will you find on Dub's playlist this week? Its a rock band from Kentucky called Black Stone Cherry. I've loved these guys for years! They're a mix of hard rock, southern rock and maybe a little blues rock thrown in there as well. If you enjoy any, or all of those genres of music, then I think you're really going to like these guys.

Let me tell you how I was introduced to them. It was 2006 and I'd just started as the Assistant Promotions Director here at Beasley Media Group. One of our sister stations was 95 Rock, one of my favorite stations growing up, and the station thats no longer around that I miss most. 95 Rock was promoting the band Saliva playing at The Mission downtown on Broad Street.

The band opening for Saliva that night was Black Stone Cherry. They came by the station earlier in the day and played live on the radio. These guys were so good, and so cool! They were very down to Earth and nice. It made me like them that much more. I bought their debut album when it came out later that year, and I've been listening to them ever since.

Black Stone Cherry played in Augusta several times over the years. They played at Sky City downtown and at Coyotes as well. I know I'm taking y'all back with those clubs!
