South Carolina Traffic Stop Concert – Man Stuns Officers With Performance
The Pickens Police Department got quite the surprise recently during a traffic stop. The incident left the officers stunned when the man broke out some interesting instruments and performed for them. It might be the first South Carolina traffic stop concert!
Man Stuns Officers With Performance
And the entire incident was caught on body cam video. According to WYFF, this unusual traffic stop happened around 9:15 p.m. on Sunday. The video shows the man who begins humming. He’s also playing what the officers said were the spoons.
But that wasn’t all. Next, you can hear a high-pitched, vibrating sound, which police say was a saw. And to wrap up his performance, the man pulls out a guitar to serenade officers with a rendition of John Denver’s “Rocky Mountain High.”
The Pickens Police Department shared the video on social media, with the caption: “Not all traffic stops are the same.” They called the man “multi-talented.” And they also thanked him for their first “Traffic Stop Concert.”
This traffic stop did not result in any citations for the man, who was not identified but is from North Carolina.

The Friendliest Town In South Carolina
I took another road trip this past Saturday and ended up in Port Royal, SC, a small town near Beaufort. I discovered the friendliest town in South Carolina.
It could have been because it was Saturday and the weather was great, but everyone was so nice everywhere I went while there. It really was a perfect day, and Port Royal is beautiful, with walking trails and a cool downtown. Also, I stopped at a farmers market on my way out of town.

While there, I talked to a park ranger in front of a small church. He was very knowledgeable and, yes, friendly too. Shout out to Richard Condon! Here’s more info on the church.
Enjoy the pics, and I’ll have another road trip adventure soon! Let me know if you can think of cool places less than three hours away from Augusta. Would love to hear about them! Just email me here.
Here is another of my low-country favorites.
