I had to share this video of this little girl singing Lainey Wilson! From what I saw on this mom’s TikTok page, the little girl in the video has been battling cancer.  But through it, she’s still smiling.  And she is a big Lainey Wilson fan it seems. The video has over 1.1 million views, 168.5 thousand likes, and over 4,000 comments. Lainey Wilson even commented and said, “Girlfriend! You’re a star!”

Lainey Wilson: The CMA's Newest Darling

Country music has a new CMA darling this morning (9/7): Lainey Wilson. Miranda Lambert, who has been the CMA’s darling for quite some time, posted a headline article to her Insta stories of Lainey topping the CMA's nominations list with six nods total. Lambert wrote over the story, “Hell yeah, she does. Go, friend, go.”

Wilson got her very first nominations today, and among her six nods are Album of the Year and Female Vocalist of the Year. Lainey herself posted to her socials when she heard the news, “6 NOMINATIONS!?!? I’m speechless. While I try to find the words, just know that I’m blown away and so so honored and proud to be nominated. Thank you to the entire country music community! @CountryMusic #CMAawards.”

With her new CMA fame fresh today, we look at some of the things that Lainey, who is also currently filming her first acting role on Paramount’s Yellowstone series this month, has been up to in the last year.

“Cody” Blaine Jackson is one half of the Kicks Wake Up Krew on Kicks 99, and also serves as the Digital Program Director for Beasley Media Group in Augusta. She’s a Georgia native but currently resides just across the river in South Carolina. She started in the radio industry as a part-time board operator, and moved up through various roles, including on-air positions and program director for multiple stations. Her passions include fitness and anything to do with animals, as she has two fur babies, her dogs Harley and Waylon. Cody likes to write about pets, fitness and Augusta local events.
