There is an 80 year old Augusta woman graduating on her birthday! How cool is that?! According to WJBF Newschannel 6, Theodosia Williams is set to graduate from Augusta University with a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree. That in itself is an awesome accomplishment, but doing it on your 80th birthday has got to make it that much more special.

WJBF reported more of Theodosia's story. She left high school without graduating, she did eventually get her GED. But she never stopped wanting more, she wanted a higher education. Theodosia said in the article, “And I just put education on hold. I got my family. I got other careers. I did other things. But back in my mind I knew I could do it. And I knew that one day I would do it.”

She went on to join the Army reserve, she was called to active duty and spent 27 years as a nurse. Once her children and grandchildren graduated and began their lives, Theodosia decided it was time to finally go to college. Later today, she will receive her Bachelor of Fine Arts with a major in art. I think this is wonderful. It shows that you're never too old to do something if you put your mind to it.
