Georgia Residents Can Now Add Digital Driver’s License In Apple Wallet App

Georgia iPhone users, you might want to listen up - a game changer has arrived! The Georgia Department of Drivers Service (DDS) has announced that this week they will begin to offer residents the option to add a valid, Georgia- issued driver's license and ID to their iPhone and Apple Watch. The feature will only work for iPhone 8 or later or Apple Watch 4 or later, with the latest version of iOS or WatchOS.

If you are an avid traveler, this will be a huge help because Georgia residents can now present their digital driver's license and ID at select Transportation Security Administration checkpoints. Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International is included.

According to Governor Brian Kemp, with Georgia being one of the top states in business he recognizes the value of finding new and innovative ways to remain at the forefront of emerging trends.

There are only four states that allow this feature which are Arizona, Maryland, Colorado, and now Georgia.

Even though this is a great feature, DDS wants to remind Georgians to still continue to carry their physical driver’s license or physical ID.

According to Apple, the security features that are built in to your device will help protect your identity and personal information. When uploading your ID, the state will only receive a limited set of information needed to approve or deny the ID. The information is encrypted on your device, so others including Apple can't access it unless you choose to present it. To learn more on the security and privacy of this feature, click here.

What are the most Instagramable places in Augusta? I've found the top ten according to Visit Augusta. So if you're looking to put some Augusta on your Instagram feed, these are the top spots to take photos. I totally agree with this list, and I'll even add a few that are right outside the Augusta city limits. 

I love going around the CSRA and taking pictures and posting them. We live in a really beautiful area, and being able to share that with the Instagram world is really cool. Seeing pictures of Augusta that we all post might make people want to come visit and see what we're all about.

Some of these are bars and restaurants. A few are just local landmarks, but they would all look really cool on Instagram. Anyone with an iPhone and some filters can be a decent photographer now. I look forward to checking out y'all's pictures now that I've given you the best spots to go.

This list is in no particular order, and it includes a few places outside of the city of Augusta, but still within the CSRA.

This is a must! If you're in downtown Augusta, you've got to snap a picture with The Godfather Of Soul. I've taken a bunch of pictures with the statue as well as of just the statue. A great time to do it is as Christmas. They have special decorations up around the statue around the holidays.

Located in Columbia County, Savannah Rapids is one of the most beautiful places in the CSRA. The water, the trails, its all awesome! You can't go to Savannah Rapids and not take at least one picture.

This one is back in Downtown Augusta and offers what I think is one of the best rooftop bars in the CSRA. Its one of my favorite places to go. My Instagram has a few pictures that were taken from the rooftop of Hyatt House. Go check it out if you never have.

Its an iconic part of Downtown Augusta. You've gotta get a picture in front of that historic marquee. I love that its lit up again after spending over 30 years dark.

This is by far one of my favorite bars in Augusta. The chill atmosphere is great, plus they've got a great photo spot right outside the front door.

Just across the river in North Augusta is the Home of The Augusta Greenjackets. Its a beautiful facility and would be great for some Instagram pictures. My Instagram has most than a few pictures that were taken at SRP Park.
