Day Trip From Augusta: Cherry Grove Beach, SC
I love this little area of the Grand Strand. Cherry Grove is actually in the North Myrtle Beach area, and it’s more laid back than Myrtle and it seems more family-friendly. Lots to do here, too, and many great restaurants on the water where you can have a meal and take in the scenery. Day Trip From Augusta: Cherry Grove Beach, SC – 3 hr 21 min.
Cherry Grove Pier
The Cherry Grove Pier is under reconstruction, and completion is in late July or August. This pier has been a fixture in Cherry Grove since the 1950s, and the tourists and locals can’t wait for it to reopen. The restaurant/bar on the pier, Driftwoods, and the tackle shop are now open. The pier was damaged during Ian in 2022, and Cherry Groove officials said it will be back bigger and better than ever when completed.
Four Blocks of Everything You Need
This unique small community has a huge, locally family-owned grocery store/deli/souvenir shop right in the middle of all the action.. Boulineau’s has been in business since 1949 and covers 4 square blocks with more than 175,000 square feet. This place has everything you would need at the beach….and more. Just another reason to love Cherry Grove.
Seafood Capitol of The World
If you’re looking for fresh seafood, “The Seafood Capitol of The World,” Calabash, NC, is 14 minutes away from Cherry Grove. This small fishing village is known for its fresh seafood right off the boat. The scenery is excellent, too. I know people who make Calabash their first stop when visiting the Cherry Grove area.
I hope you get to enjoy Cherry Grove Beach soon!
In case you missed it. Daytrip to Pinehurst.
