Downtown Aiken is cool and kinda funky at times. Some of the funky come from a small coffee shop-cafe called New Moon Cafe. There is also a New Moon Cafe in downtown Augusta.
Funky Is Healthy In This Aiken, South Carolina Café
I stopped in the Aiken location with a friend and loved the atmosphere and indoor and outdoor seating. The first thing I noticed was the relaxed vibe. Everyone seemed to be in a mood, and the smell of the freshly roasted coffee made things even better.
Peanut Butter
The kitchen was busy with employees getting orders ready for a busy Saturday morning, and the service was friendly, and we got our order quickly. We kept it simple and ordered a green smoothie with peanut butter. Total transparency, I’ll order anything with peanut butter, and this smoothie didn’t disappoint. It was healthy, too, which I needed. I don’t get a lot of healthy!
They have homemade soups, bagels, sandwiches, wraps, salads, and more. I’ll be back for breakfast soon and will try the Augusta location, which is downtown in the JB Whites building. The Aiken location is located at 116 Laurens St NW.
Sandwiches
The lunch menu is great, too, with sandwiches like the turknado, turkey with muenster cheese, avocado, red onion, and red pepper coulis, the g-love which is London broil roast beef and provolone with peppers, onions, and mushrooms on a hoagie roll and so many more great sandwiches. Hungry yet?
