Dr Pepper Float Blue Bell Ice Cream – Cody’s Taste Test
We’ve talked about it a few times on the show, and until yesterday, we hadn’t been able to find it. It’s the new Dr Pepper Float Blue Bell Ice Cream. During the show, my fiance’ David texted me a photo! He found the ice cream at Publix in North Augusta. Side note: I’d checked that same Publix maybe a week earlier!
So after I got home… we had to give it a taste! As you can see from the packaging, it’s vanilla-flavored ice cream with a Dr Pepper-flavored sherbet swirl. When you see it, it looks like a chocolate and vanilla swirl… but it does smell a bit like Dr Pepper!
I don’t drink a lot of soda anymore, but I used to LOVE Dr Pepper, so I had high hopes for this ice cream. And in all honesty, I don’t think I’ve ever had a “float” before. I wasn’t quite sure how I’d feel about the mixture of soda and vanilla ice cream.
As you can see, the ice cream is like all Blue Bell ice creams– smooth and creamy!
Now for the taste test!
I will say, it’s pretty good. Something I’d probably eat in small amounts. It’s not overly sweet. David said he felt it had a little bit of a Cherry Coke flavor to him. I won’t go out of my way to find more of it, but wouldn’t turn it down if someone offered it. Of all the Blue Bell flavors… I think my favorite has been the Christmas Cookies flavor. That one I loved so much I hunted all over town, and even called up Blue Bell to find out which stores had it! That’s dedication right there.
