Wavy Man Making Augusta Georgia A Happier Place
There he is on the side of a busy 13th Street downtown, waving and smiling, day after day. People are blowing their horns and shouting at the Wavy Man. He is on a mission to be kind and make people happy, which is much needed nowadays. Wavy Man Making Augusta, Georgia A Happier Place.
I’m In Church Sunday
One car after another from 7 am till 1 pm every day, 9 am on Saturdays, and he takes Sundays off. “I’m in church on Sunday,” says the Wavy Man, so he takes the day off to be grateful for all he has because there was a time he didn’t have much.
Just Be Nice
Napoleon Samuels is originally from West Palm Beach, Florida, but his home in Augusta once was about 3 blocks from where he waves today; he lived at the Salvation Army. Napoleon was homeless, and he worked this corner with a sign to get some money for food; one day, he said God told him to put the sign down and just be nice to people. He’s been “nice” to people on this corner for two and a half years. Wavy Man Making Augusta, Georgia A Happier Place.
A Wave And A Smile
He says the community has blessed him, and he’s no longer homeless; he now has his own place. He says he doesn’t ask for anything now; just a returned wave or beep of the horn makes this man happy, as he makes many happy every day with a wave and a smile.
The Corner Of Happy
I love his story and how he turned his life around; he just wants to make people happy. You can tell by the reaction of people riding by that they too, forget about their worries for a minute when they see Napolean Samuels on that street corner, not asking for anything, just wanting to see people smile back. Thanks, Napoleon; meeting you today was great; you made my Friday better with a simple wave….and a smile.
