With The Bell Auditorium Closed What Happens To Shows In Augusta
With The Bell Auditorium closed, what happens to shows in Augusta? Will we miss out on shows for almost a year? It doesn’t sound like it. It looks like all of our shows will now be taking place at the James Brown Arena. Usually we think about the JBA for bigger shows like Disney On Ice, WWE or Kicks99’s Guitar Pull, but now they can accommodate smaller shows that would usually go in The Bell.
According to WRDW News12, theres a new curtain system at the James Brown Arena. Shows can be shifted to as intimate as needed or they can open up the room to full capacity. So basically they can make the JBA as small as The Bell, or they can sell more tickets if needed. The Bell holds roughly 2600, but with shows being in the JBA, you can sell more tickets than that if you need to.
In case you hadn’t heard The Bell will be closed until May of next year for renovations. The renovations will make more room in The Bell for more restrooms, concessions, dressing rooms, green rooms and more. They’re saying that we won’t miss a beat as far as shows are concerned. We’re going to still have the same amount of events. However, they will all be at the JBA for the rest of this year and the beginning of next year.
So what about a new James Brown Arena? Well according to the article from WRDW News12, they’re planning to put a sales tax on the ballot in November that would fund a new JBA. So we’ll see what happens there in a few months. If you want to read the full article about what happens to shows in Augusta with The Bell Auditorium closed from WRDW News12, just click here.

Dub's Favorite Augusta Bars
What are my favorite Augusta bars? Where are my favorite places to grab a cold beverage here in town? I’ve thought about it and come up with this list. Now these are just bars. These aren’t bars and restaurants. Because if we’re talking restaurants too, then this list would be pretty dang long.
I love a good neighborhood bar vibe. A place thats not too big, however I don’t want a place thats super small either. Its important to be able to at least move around in the place. Another thing that helps a place make the list is live music. There are a few of those places on this list.
Atmosphere is really important to me, so these bars will have a really cool atmosphere. I also like a place where I can have a good experience. And I can tell you, I’ve had great experiences at all of these places, hence why they made my favorite bars list.
These are places that I’ve been going for years, and I can highly recommend them. In fact, these are the places I recommend most. So if you’re looking for bars with neighborhood vibes, great atmosphere, live music and good drinks, then these will probably be some of your favorite spots too.
