8 Best Places To Live In South Carolina
South Carolina is a great place to live. Full of small towns and cities that offer a little bit of everything. Here is 8 best places to live in South Carolina. These are in no particular order.
1. Port Royal
My first trip to Port Royal was about a year ago. I took a day trip and knew this small town was close to Beaufort, so it had to be beautiful, and I wasn’t disappointed. I described this as the friendliest town in South Carolina when I visited and knew it had to be on the list of 8 best places to live in South Carolina.
2. North Augusta
I may be slightly biased here because this is where I live. North Augusta is a great town. Plenty to do here on the Savannah River. A 12-mile trail for walking, biking, and running. A beautiful baseball stadium where the Augusta Greenjackets play, and so much more!
3. Bluffton
My first time at Bluffton was two weeks ago, and I fell in love with this place. The downtown area is full of great restaurants and shops. The next time you go to Hilton Head, stop in Bluffton. You’ll be glad you did!
4. Greenville
This is one of the best cities in America! Downtown Greenville is a beautiful place to walk, check out the restaurants, and enjoy the Falls at Reedy River. One of the newest hotels downtown is the Grand Bohemian Lodge at Falls Park. Make sure you check out its Bourbon Bar!
5. Cherry Grove Beach
We all need a little getaway to the beach, right? This is the place. An old-school beach town in the North Myrtle Beach area. Cherry Grove is slower-paced than Myrtle Beach and has that small beach town feel. This is one of my favorite places to go and relax.
6. Aiken
Another great small town with some southern charm. A vibrant downtown area with plenty to do, from great bars and restaurants to plenty of hiking trails. Aiken has been voted one of the best towns in the South!
7. Abbeville
Speaking of Southern charm…this is your place! Abbeville has a beautiful town square with plenty to do and a nice green space. Also, check out the historic Abbeville Opera House, which dates back to 1904.
8. Clemson
Home of the Clemson Tigers. This is a small college town that has a great downtown area and sits next to Lake Hartwell. You can even see the Blue Ridge Mountains on a good day! Also, it’s a 40-minute drive to Greenville and even closer to Lake Keowee, which has a 300-mile shoreline and is one of the most popular lakes in the Southeast. Also near Salem, SC, is Lake Jocassee, known for its clear and cold water from the mountain rivers that flow into it.
