Melvin's Hamburgers In Elizabethtown, NC

Melvin's Hamburgers and Hot Dogs take you back to a small-town diner where everyone is friendly, and the food is delicious. Melvin's is in Elizabethtown, North Carolina, and the hamburgers and hot dogs are made the same way today as they were when they started 85 years ago.

The Carolina Burger

The hamburger or cheeseburger, called the Carolina Burger,  comes with mustard, chili, onions, and slaw. You can add hot sauce and ketchup if you would like, but you can't get lettuce, tomatoes, and mayonnaise here. The prices and good, too. The hamburger costs only $3.75, and the old-school hot dogs cost $2.60. Plus, the homemade chili makes everything better.

If you would like fries with that, you're out of luck. Only chips here, in a bag. I love the simplicity.

Now, this is the part you have to see to believe. When I ordered my burger with a Diet Coke, it was on the counter in a brown bag before I could get the money out of my pocket. Yes, it is that quick!

It's hard to believe everything has stayed the same since 1938, but it has.

I hope you get a chance to go!
