An Augusta movie theater is offering $4 movie tickets this weekend. You can check out one of the Summer's hottest movies for just $4 this weekend! When was the last time you were able to see a movie for just $4?! Well this Sunday you can do just that. Sunday is National Cinema Day, and there is a theater right here in the CSRA thats offering up the deal.

According to USA Today, approximately 3,000 theaters nationwide will be participating in National Cinema Day. Right here in the CSRA, The Regal Augusta Exchange is offering up the $4 movie tickets on Sunday. Also, in addition to the cheaper tickets, they're offering up discounted popcorn as well. How cool is that?!

I get it, it can be expensive to go see a movie and get snacks these days, but not this Sunday! My wife and I absolutely love going to the movies. Before our daughter was born, you'd find us at the movie theater most weekends. Once Maddie gets old enough, she'll be right there with us. So what are some of the movies playing this weekend that you can check out?

  • "Barbie"
  • "Mission Impossible- Dead Reckoning- Part One"
  • "Oppenheimer"
  • "The Hill" (which was filmed here in Augusta)
  • Sound Of Freedom

Plus they're bringing back some classics like "Jurassic Park" and "American Graffiti". Also if you missed some recent hit movies like "The Little Mermaid" or "The Super Mario Bros. Movie", they'll be back on the big screen as well.

As I mentioned, you can check out some of the biggest movies of this summer, but lets look back at the biggest summer movies ever.

The Biggest Summer Movies Of All Time

What are the biggest summer movies of all time? Which ones made the most money? We've officially hit the 2023 summer movie season. Memorial Day is pretty much the unofficial official kick off of the season and a lot of big movies just dropped this past weekend. "Fast X", "The Little Mermaid", "Guardians Of The Galaxy 3", and a bunch more are already out.

Every year there seems to be a bunch of big movies that come out around Memorial Day, July 4th and Labor Day. I guess because people are off work and are more apt to go see a movie. The folks over at MentalFloss.com have ranked the summer movies that have made the most money ever.

They went back to the summer of 1975 when "Jaws" made $260 million. That made it the first true summer blockbuster. Here are a few other iconic movies that were considered huge summer movies.

-"E.T. the Extra Terrestrial" made $435.1 million in 1982
-"Star Wars: Return of the Jedi" made $309.3 million in 1983

I can say that I have seen most of the movies on this list, and I'm anxious to see what makes the list for 2023. If you'd like to check out the full list from MentalFloss.com, just click here
