Day Trip: Augusta To Clayton, Georgia-3 hr 2 min
This small town in the Blue Ridge Mountains is worth a day trip. There is plenty to do, with favorites like hiking and seeing the area’s waterfalls. Downtown is full of great restaurants and small local shops. Also, there are a couple of great places to stay downtown during your visit, like the White Birch Inn, a bed and breakfast with only six rooms in a building that dates back to the 1920’s. The area has some great wineries and a beautiful state park, Tallulah Gorge State Park in nearby Tallulah Falls, GA. I just visited the state park, and you can check that out here. If you hike to the suspension bridge or down to the gorge floor, be prepared with water and comfortable hiking shoes!
Enjoy your visit, and have fun!
