Dub’s Playlist – A Song For My Daughter
This week on Dub’s playlist I’m playing a song for my daughter. It’s crazy to think that Maddie will be one this weekend. And this has definitely been the fastest year of my life. I feel like it was just yesterday that we were bringing her home from the hospital, and settling into our new lives as parents. How has it already been a year?
Let’s Go Back In Time
The song I’m featuring this week just hits me different now. Let me take you back to April of last year. In April of 2022, Kelsey and I did our gender reveal, and found out we were having a baby girl. Well, after everyone left the gender reveal I went to throw away a bunch of trash in the dumpster. On the ride to the dumpster, I was listening to a George Strait playlist.
I just had the playlist on shuffle. This song wasn’t the first song that played, it was probably the third or fourth. And, it’s always been a George Strait song that I’ve loved. But hearing it that day just hit me different. When I heard this song that day, it made me tear up in a big way. Even now, a year later, I still tear up every time I hear this song.
Whenever Maddie gets old enough to really get it, I want to play her this song, and let her know that this is how her daddy feels about her. I know I won’t be able to get through it without tearing up, heck I’m tearing up typing this right now.

20 George Strait Songs That Make Him King Of Country
George Strait is spending his 2023 tour season with a handful of stadium dates. The shows feature opening acts Little Big Town and Chris Stapleton.
George made a statement when the tour was announced in 2022. He said, “When I walk through those curtains and see those smiling faces, my feet don’t touch the ground again ’til I walk back out and get on that bus. That’s from a song I wrote called ‘I’ll Always Remember You.’ It’s a true statement. When we talked about doing these six shows next year with Chris, it was a no-brainer for me. I was all in.”
