As usual, I was looking for a good burger during my recent vacation. I was in the Charleston area and saw online that many locals were talking about the burgers at Bohemian Bull, so I thought I would try it out. This is a Great burger joint in James Island.
They have a couple of locations in the Charleston area. Mount Pleasant and James Island. Since I was staying at Folly Beach, I tried the James Island location.
A Great Burger
First, it’s a great atmosphere, and they have a large variety of craft beer. I ordered a burger with cheese, lettuce, tomato, and mayonnaise with fries and a local IPA. The burger was delicious, cooked perfectly, and was juicy, but not too much. The fries were great, too, and the IPA was spot-on for a hot beach day.
They have a large menu with plenty of items to choose from, but I’m told the burgers are what most people look for when coming here. Some of the unique burgers they offer are the Truffle burger with truffle mayo, fried onion ring, grilled baby portabella mushrooms, & gouda cheese, also the Black and Blue burger, which is a blackened burger with jalapenos, bacon jam (Yum!), blue cheese with lettuce and tomato.
Bacon Jam!
They also have a Bacon Jam burger if you can’t get enough of the aforementioned bacon jam. It’s loaded with pepper jack pimento cheese, a fried green tomato, and bacon jam. (double Yum!). I’ll try that one next time.
The Bohemian Bull is also a popular gathering place for people in the Charleston area. The James Island location has an outdoor stage for live local music in the cool beer garden and hosts trivia nights.
This is another good food find; this time, it’s a great burger joint in James Island. They also have a location in Greenville, SC, if you’re up that way.
