Heights, Spiders, Snakes, And More – Our Biggest Fears In The CSRA
What are people’s biggest fears here in the CSRA? Everyone is scared of something, but what are people in Georgia and South Carolina most afraid of? I’ve found a list of those fears, and I’m curious to see if y’all agree with these or not.
According to a new survey published by Casino.org, there are about ten different phobias that people in each state have. These are the most common ones.
Common Phobias In America
- Acrophobia which is the fear of heights.
- Social phobia which is the fear of social situations.
- Arachnophobia which is the fear of spiders.
- Thanatophobia which is the fear of death.
- Trypanophobia which is the fear of needles.
- Ophidiophobia which is the fear of snakes.
- Atychiphobia which is an intense fear of failure.
- Agoraphobia which is the fear of open spaces.
- Glossophobia which is the fear of public speaking.
- Trypophobia which is having feelings of disgust when you see patterns with lots of holes.
- Claustrophobia which is the fear of tight spaces.
These are the most common phobias by everyone in at least one state in the country. So, what are the biggest fears of people here in the CSRA? In Georgia, it’s Acrophobia, the fear of heights. And in South Carolina, it’s Ophidiophobia, the fear of snakes. I’d say those check out. Speaking for myself, I’m not a huge fan of either of those things. Although, I can take heights more than I can spiders.

Speaking of scary things. Let’s talk about Halloween, and some weird, off the wall things people here in the CSRA found in their Halloween trick or treat bags instead of candy.
Weird Things People In The CSRA Found In Their Halloween Bags
You’re not going to believe what some people in the CSRA have found in their Halloween bags. It’s not always candy that you get when you go trick or treating. Of course most people do give out candy, but some people go a more unconventional route. Maybe they don’t want to be the same as everyone else, or maybe they forgot to buy candy, now they’re scrambling last minute.
Either way, it makes for some pretty entertaining stories. We started talking about it this morning. I said that I’ll never forget when I was a kid, I got change one year in my trick or treat bag. Someone literally had a coffee can full of change, and they were giving out handfuls of change instead of candy.
We’ve also heard about people giving out toothbrushes or fruit on Halloween. C’mon, don’t do the kids dirty that way! Kids want candy on Halloween. That’s why its called trick or treat, not trick or fruit, or trick or toothbrush!
As usual, we got some really great stories from y’all. One called said he got Krystal burgers one year. Another lady said she got shoes. These are true stories, we’re not making these up.
