Is it bad for your mental health to play Christmas music too early in the season? Some people are actually saying yes! I know there are a lot of people who jump right into Christmas as soon as Halloween is over. Think about all of the stores that already have a lot of their holiday decor out already. It's easy to get into the spirit early, don't get me wrong, but is it actually good for you mentally?

I was reading an article on Whiskey Riff, and they were walking about an article that a psychologist named Linda Blair did. She said that being bombarded by holiday tunes too early in the season stresses people out. Linda said that hearing those songs makes people think about buying presents, organizing parties, booking travel, and all of the other things that come along with the holidays. She says playing Christmas music too early makes the brain associate with all of the more stressful chores during Christmas.

What Do You Think?

Do you agree with that? It makes sense, but for me, I think that Thanksgiving deserves its time to shine. Thanksgiving almost gets completely glossed over these days. In my opinion, Christmas season starts the day after Thanksgiving. That's the way it was when I was a kid, and in my mind thats the way it will always be.

This is always a hot topic. Everyone usually has a take on it. Some people think that when it comes to Christmas music, the earlier the better. On the other hand, other people think like I do, that Christmas starts on Black Friday. If you want to check out the full article I was reading from Whiskey Riff, just click here.

If you are already in the Christmas spirit, then you need to start thinking about what you're asking Santa for this year. Did you know I'm close friends with the big guy?

I’m Close Friends With Santa

I'm not trying to be out here bragging, but I'm friends with Santa. Not just friends, but me and the big guy are tight and have been for quite some time. I'm not going to lie, my relationship with Santa hasn't always been perfect. Thankfully Santa is a patient guy and he'll wait on you to come around and warm up to him.

I first met Santa just like everyone else when I was little. On Christmas Eve when I was a kid we'd always go to my Mema's house and have snacks and open a few presents and Santa would always show up! So not only am I tight with Santa, but my family is too. We're connected! Now I wasn't too sure about Santa at first. I used to hide behind a chair and didn't want to hang with Santa.

Santa was patient and waited for me to come around, which I did. Santa and I have been cool ever since. While I don't see Santa every year like I did when I was a kid, I still like to check in with the big guy. I still like to make sure my name is right there on the nice list. Every time Santa and I see each other, it's like no time has passed at all.

You might be sitting there saying, Dub it's one thing to say that you're cool with Santa, but can you prove it? You know what they say, pictures or it didn't happen. Well I've got pictures!
