Celebrating almost 50 years, Mellow Mushroom has introduced its largest rebrand ever.

Augusta has two Mellow Mushrooms, one located in Evans, GA, and another located in Downtown Augusta. If you are familiar with the area, you know that the Downtown Augusta Mellow Mushroom just went through its own revamp. Now, with large teal and purple LED signs that read "Mellow Mushroom", that location has moved down the street to a larger location after 19 years.

This national rebrand changed a little bit of everything, from its logo to its website to its restaurant design. This has been in the works for over a year and now it is officially here.

What does the rebrand include?

  • Refreshed visuals with a new color scheme
  • New uniforms for employees
  • Newly designed menus
  • New in-store signage
  • An updated Mel O. Mushroom, the brand’s character
  • Revamped retail shop to to reflect the rebrand

They have also noticed that more than 30% of their customers are coming from online orders, so the online purchasing experience has also been revamped to allow for a more cohesive website that includes online ordering and payments. Before this, Mellow Mushroom had its website and a separate site for ordering online orders, now it will all be one.

These new changes rolled out on November 7 and just a week from then, November 14, the business will launch its first-ever TV connected campaign.

Both locations in the CSRA changed their Facebook profile picture to the the newest Mellow Mushroom logo in the past 24 hours.

The restaurant originated right here in Georgia, two hours from Augusta, in the city of Atlanta.

They will also be bringing a new prototype to the founding city.

At the end of next summer, a Mellow Mushroom Prototype will be placed in Atlanta's Grant Park. The prototype will be about 1,000 square feet smaller than a traditional Mellow Mushroom restaurant so a more compact restaurant.

The point of this rebrand and revamp is for customers to have a clear understanding of what Mellow Mushrooms' brand identity is.

Dub’s Favorite Pizza Places In Augusta

I wanted to share some of my favorite pizza places in Augusta. It is National Pepperoni Pizza Day after all. Pizza is one of those foods that I could eat at least once a week. Plus it's a great leftover food, pizza is just as good the next day. You could probably call me a pizza snob, I know what I like when it comes to my pizza.

For me, the perfect pizza is not too thick. This might be an unpopular opinion, but I actually prefer thin crust. My wife says it's like eating paper. I don't care, I enjoy thin-crust pizza, however, it can't be paper thin, I actually need to be able to taste something.

So I like thin crust and not too much sauce. I want to be able to taste the sauce, but I don't want that to be all I taste. A good sauce-to-cheese ratio is what I like. Also, my go-to pizza topping is pepperoni. The more pepperoni, the better! Bacon is a close second as far as my favorite pizza topping. Yes, I will also put pineapple on my pizza. It's good! Don't come at me!

Of course, I can get down with some of the national pizza places like Little Caesars, Pizza Hut, and Papa John's, but in this list, I'm focusing on local pizza places here in the CSRA.

These are in no particular order, but they are my favorite pizza places in Augusta.

Mellow Mushroom

They've got three locations in the CSRA. Aiken, Evans and Downtown Augusta. The one in Evans is the one I go to the most because it's closest to my house. Their pizza is great, but another one of my favorite things on their menu is their oven roasted wings!

Pizza Joint

Like Mellow, Pizza Joint has locations in Downtown Augusta, Evans and Aiken. I've been going there for years. My go-to order there are slices of pepperoni, bacon and pineapple pizza. I promise you its really good!

Guiseppe's

I was introduced to Guiseppe's by my buddy Zach years ago. When my in-laws come to town, they always want to go to Guiseppe's. Of course, it's so much food we always end up taking some home for lunch the next day.

Roma's Pizza

Located right across from the Regal movie theater on Agerton Lane, this place is the perfect spot for a little snack before you go see a movie. I can't tell you how many times I've done that. My wife and I will hit Roma's for lunch a good bit too, usually before we have to run in Target to pick up something.

Armando's Pizzeria

I was introduced to Armando's a few years ago, and I was hooked! This is my go-to spot in Grovetown! It's right around the corner from my house, and if we're getting pizza for a football party or something, odds are it's coming from Armando's.
