Aiken is positioning itself as a new hot spot for golf in the South. Which I think is awesome! If it brings more people to our area to enjoy golf, then I'm all for it.
What Are The Details?
I was reading an article from Golf Digest, and they were talking about the new courses that are set to open about 15 miles from Aiken. It's called 21 Golf Club, and it will consist of two 18 hole courses. The first course that will be constructed will be called "The Hammer". There will be a second course constructed later, but there isn't a lot of info being released about that one just yet.
Golf Digest called Aiken the South's hottest spot for new golf, and they are correct. In just the past year, two other courses have opened. There's Old Barnwell located in Aiken, and The Tree Farm in Batesburg-Leesville. These courses join established courses in and around Aiken like Palmetto Golf Club, Aiken Golf Club and Sage Valley.
A timeline on when 21 Golf Club will open hasn't been announced yet, however I'm hoping it will be soon. I haven't had the chance to play any of the new courses in Aiken yet, but I look forward to hopefully playing them sometime in the near future.

If you know me, then you know I love golf. Here are some of my favorite golf pictures.
Dub Celebrates National Golf Lovers Day
Today is National Golf Lovers Day, so I figured it would be the perfect opportunity for me to share some of my favorite golf pictures with y'all. Narrowing them down wasn't easy. I've been playing golf fairly regularly since the Spring of 2018. How often do I play? As often as I can. Between work and family duties, I don't get out as much as I'd like, but I still play as much as I can.
Having a golf day is the absolute best! When I know I'm playing later in the week, I get so excited. I start cleaning my clubs, and my golf shoes, also gotta make sure I have enough golf balls. Listen, I'll be honest, I lose a few every time I play. If you're being honest, I don't think I'm alone when I say that. Anyways, back to the awesome feeling of a golf day. There is nothing better.
Being able to spend several hours outside with your friends is really why we go. Well that, and they usually have beer at the golf course. It's usually a roller coaster of emotions. Good shots, bad shots, made putts, missed putts, high fives, yelling "How did that not go in?!" It's all part of a good golf day. I've been fortunate enough to play a lot of great courses here in the CSRA. If you want to see which ones are my favorite, just click here.
That's my list, of course the folks over at Golf Digest have their list of best courses around Augusta as well, you can see their list here.
These are some of my favorite golf pictures over the years, thanks in advance for checking them out. Happy National Golf Lovers Day!

Savannah Lakes over in McCormick is a beautiful course. Some of the holes back up to the lake, so as you can imagine it's a pretty great scenic course.

I've had the pleasure of playing at Champions Retreat a couple of times. Its a truly beautiful place, and anytime I get the opportunity to play out there, I never say no.
