Lainey Wilson Wakes Up An Hour Early Each Day To Do This
Lainey Wilson wakes up an hour early each day since her trip to Australia to take some time for herself and do some journaling.
She told Billboard in a new interview, “I do sound a little hippie-dippy, but it works for me. Just kind of starting my day with an attitude of gratitude.”
She added that he feels like she has no choice because it has made her feel “so good and grounded.” Wilson says when she follows that routine, her shows have gone better, and she feels more “levelheaded.” She noted that she has to treat herself “like an athlete.”
New Album
Lainey has a lot to be thankful for. She was crowned the CMA’s Entertainer of the Year in November and is likely to take the same honor from the ACM Awards next week (5/16). She also announced her next album yesterday (5/9), which will be called Whirlwind.

On the new project, she chose to record with her road band. She told Billboard that she and the band have played close to 400 shows in the past two and a half years, noting, “I knew they could do it.” She added that she felt “that’s where the magic was going to come from this time.”
In the same interview, Wilson talked about her boyfriend, Devlin Hodges, and their relationship. She said she has taken some advice from Dolly Parton, who stresses the importance of keeping some things to yourself when you’re sharing so much else with the world.
Lainey And Duck
Lainey said when it comes to her and Duck’s relationship, “there’s going to be some things that we can’t escape.” She knows that people are going to say and do whatever, but that if she and he are on “the same page about the less they put out there,” the less that they are going to have to deal with “people making anything up and saying anything.”
She added that the couple want to keep their relationship “as sacred as we possibly can between me and him.”

As for her incredible career in country music, she said that while she had ten years to prepare for stardom in Nashville, she doesn’t think you can ever really fully prepare yourself for everything “coming at once.” She notes that right now, she is just trying to “hold on for dear life.”
