Lainey Wilson’s New Song ‘Hang Tight Honey’
Lainey Wilson released a new song from her forthcoming Whirlwind album over the weekend (5/12). The new song is called “Hang Tight Honey,” and it’s a banger.
In a series of posts on Instagram, Lainey revealed the new song. In the first post, she released a video clip of her in the studio listening to the song and wrote, “The next song off of Whirlwind is comin’ sooner than y’all think.”
In the next post, she shared a video clip of her in the studio recording the new song. She wrote, “Hang tight, honey, I’m heading straight home to you! My new song will be out everywhere TONIGHT at midnight ET. Pre-save/pre-add it now!”
In the final post about the new tune, she wrote, “I’ve been runnin’ the roads nonstop for a few years now and I ain’t gonna lie to y’all, sometimes it can be tough being away from home that much. At the same time, remembering what ‘home’ is and the things that I get to do for the ones I love because of the work I put in is what keeps me going and makes it all worthwhile.
This one’s an anthem for the hardworking men and women who get up every day and work long hours to make a life worth living for the ones they love most.
Love y’all! Crank ‘er up loud and proud. Listen now and pre-save, pre-add, or pre-order “Whirlwind’ (out Aug. 23) now!”

Wilson wakes up an hour early each day since her trip to Australia to take some time for herself and do some journaling.
She told Billboard, “I do sound a little hippie-dippy, but it works for me. Just kind of starting my day with an attitude of gratitude.”
She added that he feels like she has no choice because it has made her feel “so good and grounded.” Wilson says when she follows that routine, her shows have gone better, and she feels more “levelheaded.” She noted that she has to treat herself “like an athlete.”
Whirlwind
Lainey has a lot to be thankful for. She was crowned the CMA’s Entertainer of the Year in November and is likely to take the same honor from the ACM Awards next week (5/16). She also announced her next album yesterday (5/9), which will be called Whirlwind.
On the new project, she chose to record with her road band. She told Billboard that she and the band have played close to 400 shows in the past two and a half years, noting, “I knew they could do it.” She added that she felt “that’s where the magic was going to come from this time.”
