Lainey Wilson Won’t Soon Forget Her 32nd Birthday
Lainey Wilson celebrates her 32nd birthday this weekend (5/19) on top of the world, having just been crowned the ACM Entertainer of the Year months after receiving the same honor from the CMA in November.
When she won the top honor at Thursday night’s (5/16) ACM Awards in Texas, she said in part, “Man, these past few years for us have just been a complete whirlwind.”
She thanked the Lord, her management team and all of those who have worked with her and fought for her. She then thanked her fans and said, “Everybody in this category has loved on me and believed in me, took me out on the road, sang songs with me, wrote with me, encouraged me every step of the way, and I love you all for that.”
She closed with, “I have the best fans in the world. Thank you so much, ya’ll.”
Lainey also took home ACM Awards for Female Vocalist (an award she also won last year) and Musical Event for “Save Me” with Jelly Roll.

Before the ACM Awards, Wilson posted some photos on Instagram of herself and her ACM Awards show date, her mom, whom she called “Mama Wilson.” She captioned some red carpet photos, “Let’s hear it for Mama Wilson…she cleaned up for the occasion. Thanks, @yellowrosebykendrascott, for getting both of us ready. #ACMawards”
The post was loved by fans, and many reacted. One fan wrote, “Mama Wilson is beautiful.” Another commented, “You and your momma look stunning!”
Wilson released a new song from her forthcoming Whirlwind album last week (5/12) that she performed on the ACM Awards show. The new song is called “Hang Tight Honey,” and it’s a banger.
In an Instagram post, Lainey revealed the new song. In the first post, she released a video clip of herself in the studio listening to the song and wrote, “The next song off of Whirlwind is comin’ sooner than y’all think.”
Lainey will look back on all her success and crazy life in a couple of years and know just what happened in this exciting time as she is journaling each day. She told Billboard she wakes up an hour early each day to take some time for herself and do some journaling.
She told Billboard, “I do sound a little hippie-dippy, but it works for me. Just kind of starting my day with an attitude of gratitude.”
She added that she feels like she has no choice because it has made her feel “so good and grounded.” Wilson says when she follows that routine, her shows have gone better, and she feels more “levelheaded.” She noted that she has to treat herself “like an athlete.”
