The Most Polite States In The Country- Where Do Georgia And South Carolina Rank
Are Georgia and South Carolina two of the most polite states in the country? I’d like to think so. For the most part, I think we’re all pretty nice down here in the South. We definitely have that reputation as far as the rest of the country is concerned. Everyone knows when you come down South get ready for that Southern Hospitality.
Truth Or Fiction- The Most Polite States Are In The South
The website Mindfully American reported this survey from Preply. They wanted to see if some of the stereotypes were true. For example, is Southern hospitality a real thing? Are all people from New York rude? Is there any truth to any of this, or are they just rumors? Who ranks the highest on the list of most polite states?
Preply conducted their study by surveying Americans in all 50 states, asking them questions to gauge how important “polite” actions were to the participants. Points were assigned to responses, and Preply adjusted the score on a scale of 0 to 100. The closer a state ranked to 100, the more polite Preply determined it was.
Now that you know how they compiled the list, let’s see where we landed. Georgia was number two on the list of most polite states, and South Carolina was number four. Arkansas, Alabama, Tennessee, Kentucky, Louisiana, and North Carolina were all in the top ten. So of the top ten most polite states, eight of them were Southern states. The only two that weren’t were Kansas and Michigan.
I think it’s safe to say that Southern hospitality is a real thing, and our reputation as being nice down in the South is well deserved.
