The Best Cities To Raise A Family-Where Does Augusta Rank
There is a new list of the best and worst cities to raise a family in that has just been released. So where did Augusta rank on this list? Keep reading, I’ll give you the details. I’m anxious to see if you agree or disagree with this new study.
This study comes to us from the folks at WalletHub. They compiled data from more than 180 of the top cities in the country to come up with this list. Some of the key factors they took into account include the cost of housing, the quality of local schools and healthcare systems, and the opportunity for fun and recreational activities.
Based on this, let’s take a look at the top ten best cities to raise a family in:
- Fremont, California
- Overland Park, Kansas
- Irvine, California
- Plano, Texas
- Seattle, Washington
- Gilbert, Arizona
- San Jose, California
- San Diego, California
- Boise, Idaho
- Huntington Beach, California
I’m not sure how much I agree with the top ten cities on this list. So half of the top ten are in California?! Then why exactly are so many people moving out of California? Just a question I had, anyways, let’s take a look at where some Southern cities landed on the list.
Charleston, SC was number 14. Raleigh, NC was number 53. Charlotte, NC was number 58. Atlanta was number 71. Nashville was number 116. Columbus, GA was number 129. Columbia, SC was number 131, and Fayetteville, NC checked in at number 150.
So where did Augusta rank on the list of best cities to raise a family in? We found ourselves at number 173 out of 182. I definitely don’t agree with this. Do we have some work to do on our schools and other parts of the area? Sure, of course, we do. Could we have a few more options for fun and recreation? Absolutely! But, I think, if you look at the CSRA as a whole, this is a great area to raise a family. And I think all of the people who are moving here every year would agree.
