So which team has the hardest schedules in college football? We're gearing up for the 2024 season, and one thing you always hear people talk about is strength of schedule. "Oh well, this team is undefeated because they don't play anybody". Or, "well we've got two losses because we've got a really tough schedule." These are all things you'll hear during the season, but let's take a closer look.

Who Has College Football's Toughest Schedule?

Before you start putting pressure on me, just know that ESPN's computer put this list together and not me. I found this list on The Spun. I'll tell you this, the SEC dominates this list. Check it out which teams have the hardest schedules in college football.

  1. Florida
  2. Mississippi State
  3. Georgia
  4. Kentucky
  5. Auburn
  6. Alabama
  7. Oklahoma
  8. Tennessee
  9. Georgia Tech
  10. Texas

See what I mean? Nine of the top ten teams are in the SEC. I think the addition of Texas and Oklahoma to the SEC this season is what's making this list so SEC heavy. Texas and Oklahoma are historically pretty strong teams, and when you add them to an already stacked SEC lineup, you can see why this list is so SEC heavy.

Florida does have a pretty tough schedule as it stands right now. They're playing 8 ranked teams. Those teams include 19 Miami, 20 Texas A&M, 15 Tennessee, 1 Georgia, 4 Texas, 13 LSU, 6 Ole Miss, and 10 Florida State.

So what about the Dawgs? They also have one of the hardest schedules in college football. As of now, they play five ranked teams. Those teams include 14 Clemson, 5 Alabama, 4 Texas, 6 Ole Miss, and 15 Tennessee. Three of Georgia's opponents are ranked in the top ten, with the other two being ranked in the top fifteen. Of course those rankings will move up and down from week to week.

All I know is that I'm fired up for football! Let's get this season started!
