If you're traveling and staying in hotels, maybe something that you like doing is checking out the snazzy hotel bars. The same could be said for hotel restaurants, but there's something cool about sitting up at a hotel bar and swapping stories with the person next to you. People at restaurant bars come from all over, so you might even make a new best friend from another area. Now, the experts at USA Today have named one Georgia hotel bar among the best hotel bars in the country.

USA Today's 10 Best has put out a tally of the best hotel bars in the country. The 10 bars were picked by an expert panel and voted as the best in the country by the USA Today readers for their "great atmospheres and stellar mixologists." They add that for most of these bars, you won't have to be a hotel guest to enjoy the experience, which is nice. I've definitely made a habit of eating at hotel restaurants, even if I'm not staying at those hotels.

Before we get local, let's look at the No. 1 hotel bar in the country. According to the experts at USA Today, it's Carousel Bar & Lounge at Hotel Monteleone in New Orleans, Louisiana. They write that this spot is "a famous stopping point in the revered Hotel Monteleone." It dates back to 1949 and actually "spins its patrons around as they sip a drink from the expansive cocktail menu. Non-revolving seating is available for those drinkers who'd rather stay stationary while they imbibe." No. 2 on the tally is Top of the Mark at InterContinental Mark Hopkins in San Francisco, California, which offers one-of-a-kind 360-degree views of the San Francisco skyline.

For Georgia, coming in at No. 6 is The Wayward at Perry Lane Hotel, located at 257 East Perry Street in Savannah. USA Today gushes over this places, stating, "In the heart of Savannah's Historic District, The Wayward has a punk rock vibe that sets it apart from standard hotel bars. A lineup of creative cocktails is available, but The Wayward's team of expert bartenders will also create a customized drink based on a patron's preferences." The experts at USA Today also promise the "perfect concoction" for those getting their drink on here. The hotel itself boasts that, "With a modern approach to hand-crafted cocktails, The Wayward offers a fresh take on the local watering hole." They also have "renegade art, music and décor," so what's not to love?
