Country icon Reba McEntire, like so many of us, has wonderful memories of Halloween night as a kid. Growing up in rural Oklahoma, along with her three siblings, Alice, Susie, and Pake, Reba recalled that Halloween as a child was full of treats and with a little brother, full of a bunch of tricks as well.

She told us, "The way we used to celebrate it when we were kids – we were out in the country; our nearest neighbor was a couple of miles away from us, so we’d gotta get dressed up and put on lipstick or whatever we could. We didn’t have Halloween costumes, and we’d walk down in the dark to Mr. and Mrs. Winslet’s house, and she’d feed us cookies and milk, and then we’d walk back up in the dark."

She added of her siblings, "But Alice, Susie, and I weren’t attentive enough to realize that Pake wasn’t with us in the group, and Pake would get up on the road going to the house and crawl up in a tree and scare the crap out of us. So, that was my Halloween memories right there.”

Reba will enjoy her Halloween this year, most likely in California, where she is filming her new NBC sitcom, Happy’s Place.

McEntire has teamed up with renowned songwriter Carole King to write the theme song for her upcoming new NBC comedy, Happy’s Place.

The song, released by MCA Nashville, is available across all music platforms and debuted on the Happy’s Place series which premiered on Friday, October 18 at 8 p.m. Happy’s Place streams the next day on Peacock.

Reba said, “I’m so happy for the opportunity to write the theme song for Happy’s Place with my good friend, Carole King. It just doesn’t get much better than that! I hope my fans will love this song as much as they did the theme song for the Reba show.”

McEntire recently posted to Instagram, "We’re opening our doors in exactly one week! I can hardly wait! The official theme song is out now #HappysPlace."

Happy’s Place stars Reba McEntire as her character, Bobbie, who inherits her father’s tavern (Happy’s Place) and is surprised to discover that she has a new business partner, Isabella, played by Belissa Escobedo, a twentysomething half-sister she never knew she had. The series also stars Melissa Peterman, Pablo Castelblanco, Tokala Black Elk, and Rex Linn.
