Dub: We’re powered by Leonard Truck Outfitters. Truck around and find out.
Cody: Well, for those of you who fly with Southwest Airlines, there have been some changes.
Dub: Mm-hmm.
Cody: They are now going to be charging for checked bags.
Dub: Just like everybody else.
Cody: Yep, apparently the airline is aiming to boost revenue after investor pressure.
Dub: They’re like, hey, y’all ain’t making enough money. Go make more.
Cody: Yep, and so elite frequent flyers and credit card holders will still receive some free checked bags.
Dub: Probably a free carry-on if I had to guess.
Cody: And two bags fly free is no longer the norm. NBC said that Amtrak kind of ribbed Southwest Airlines by posting, guess we’re the only ones doing free baggage now.
Dub: Well, yeah, because you’re a train. Yeah, I mean, like, you don’t have to worry about, like, weight and stuff like that. Again, I, look, if you’re bringing one bag and one checked bag, like, let, come on, man, let that first bag fly free.
You know what I’m saying? Yeah. If you’re, if you walk on a plane with, you know, say your backpack or like whatever, that’s your carry-on and then you have one bag and it’s not like overly large, right?
Come on. Yeah. Like, let’s, you’re already charging a crazy amount for snacks and all that other stuff. Let the bags fly free.
Cody: Yeah, well, it’s not going to happen at Southwest Airlines.
Dub: It ain’t going to happen anywhere.
Cody: And TikTok is introducing a new wind down feature for teens under 16. The app will now play calming music late at night to encourage relaxation. Parents can now use the family pairing feature to restrict their child’s TikTok access during specific times.
And they can also view their activity. I think this is great. I think this is fantastic because I just know that there’s a lot on TikTok. It can be very easy to get some not-so-kid-friendly entertainment. Yeah, yeah, yeah. And so I think this is wonderful.
Dub: I think that parents should have access to their kids’ social media at all times. You know, there’s so much crap out there that kids can be exposed to or people that could have access to your kids via private messages and things like that. Look, I think if you’re going to allow your kids to be on social media under a certain age, you should have access to everything. Their passwords, all of it.
Cody: Yes, I wish more parents would actually…
Dub: 100%.
Cody: Would actually care that passionately about it because it could make a difference.
Dub: Yeah, look, you see too much stuff on social media and on the news to where you should have access to all of that stuff. And can I be honest with you, I’m not mad about this whole wind down feature. I kind of wish that they would do this for adults.
Play some relaxing music for me. I could use it. And speaking of sleep, apparently the 10-3-2-1-0 sleep rule is being hailed as the ultimate hack for sound sleep.
Have you heard about this?
Cody: I have not. Does this go along with my mouth taping?
Dub: No, it doesn’t say anything about mouth tape. It doesn’t say anything about grounding sheets or anything. So here is the 10-3-2-1-0 sleep rule.
Avoid caffeinated drinks 10 hours before bed. Oh, gosh. So what, you can’t have anything past lunch?
Oh, wow. Well, not as early as you go to bed. You can’t have any caffeine past like 8 a.m. Yeah. I’m out already. Okay, so you’re out on the 10 rule. Stop eating and drinking alcohol three hours before bed.
Cody: Eating three hours before bed is hard for me just because my gym schedule and the time I go to bed.
Dub: Yeah, I think we usually do three hours. Now, sometimes on the weekends, if I’m having a beer or a bourbon or something like that, that may happen right before bed. Finish work two hours before snoozing.
I guess that’s for people that work from home or things like that. Avoid screens one hour before bed.
Cody: That’s tough. Yeah, I try to read a book versus being on my phone, but it’s not for a whole hour before bed.
Dub: And avoid hitting the snooze button zero times in the morning. Now, yeah, I try to do that. I try not to hit snooze. Well, if I hit snooze, there’s a good chance I might not wake back up.
Cody: Yeah, well, my alarm was set for 2 this morning, and I turned it off and reset one for 2:45. Yeah, yeah. With the latest second sleep.
Dub: Right. Now, there’s times when we’ll do that, but sometimes hitting the snooze button, it could get a little dicey. Look, the 10, 3, 2, 1, 0 rule. I mean, look, that’s great in theory, but is it practical?
