Augusta Sports Council Gives Out $10,000 in Scholarships To Student-Athletes

Ten high school athletes in the Augusta area each got $1,000 for college. Since the Augusta Sports Council's start, 88 students have split $98,000 in awards.

Students from eight counties earned the 2025 GAMES scholarships. The selection team picked winners who shined in class, sports, and local service work. Richmond, Columbia, Burke, McDuffie, Wilkes, Warren, Aiken, and Edgefield counties each had students in the running.

The awards went to Ridge Spring-Monetta's Gabrielle Brannon, Aiken High's Hunter Creasy, Benjamin Goldberg and Solomon Humphreys from Lakeside High, Greenbrier's Kenzie Horton, North Augusta's Cameron Humphrey, Aquinas' Christopher Jackson, Westminster's Levi Ketterman, and South Aiken's Zoe Schifer and Rebecca Walker from South Aiken.

Augusta Coca-Cola, Augusta Half Marathon group, Doctors Hospital, Morgan Stanley, and Wier/Stewart support the August Sports Council.
