More than 60 schools in Georgia have partnered with the Georgia Student Finance Commission to waive application fees for high school seniors this month. The program runs all of November as part of Apply to College Month.

This is the fifth year the commission has pushed for fee waivers in November. Since application fees differ at each school, students who apply to several places could save a lot of money.

"As the home of many top-ranking higher education institutions, Georgia has a program for any Georgian looking to advance their education and career," said Governor Kemp, according to East Cobb News. "Whether at a USG, TCSG, or private institution, we want Georgia students to know that they can receive a great education that will set them up for success without having to leave this state."

Kemp thanked the schools for dropping fees this month. He said this builds on Georgia Match, which helps families get through the admissions process.

Chris Green runs the commission. He wants to make things easier for seniors who plan to continue their schooling in what he calls the Top State for Talent. "Through the incredible support of our postsecondary partners — the University System of Georgia, the Technical College System of Georgia, and the Georgia Independent College Association — thousands of high school seniors can now apply to college for free," said Chris Green.

Seniors who apply through the Georgia Match direct admissions dashboard this month get their fees waived without having to do anything extra. The dashboard makes applying simpler for high school seniors across Georgia.

A complete list of schools taking part and instructions on getting the fee waivers can be found at GAfutures.org. Seniors can set up meetings with their regional outreach representatives.
