SCDOT Plans Public Meeting for US 25 Intersection Work in Edgefield County
SCDOT will host a public meeting on March 3. Officials want to talk about changes planned for US 25 and Shortcut Road/Trailside Drive in Edgefield County.

The South Carolina Department of Transportation will host a public meeting on March 3. Officials want to talk about changes planned for US 25 and Shortcut Road/Trailside Drive in Edgefield County. Drop in anytime between 5 and 7 p.m. The meeting takes place at Fox Creek High School, 165 Shortcut Road.
Plans call for a new traffic signal. Crews would add dedicated turn lanes and shift Trailside Drive. The goal is to create better traffic flow through that spot.
Right now, drivers have no dedicated turn lanes. Shortcut Road and Trailside Drive don't line up properly, which can make turning tricky and dangerous for drivers. Fox Creek High School also sits close to where construction would happen.
SCDOT staff will answer questions and discuss details with anyone who stops by. If you want to share your thoughts, you've got until March 18 to send comments to the department.
This meeting doesn't require you to arrive at a set time. Show up when it works for you during those two hours. Look over the plans. Talk with department staff. Ask what's on your mind.
You can find more details at projectportal.scdot.org/US25-shortcutroad. The website explains what will change and how traffic will move differently once work wraps up.
The comment window stays open two weeks after the meeting ends. That gives people time to think things over and send their feedback to SCDOT.
When will construction start? That hasn't been announced yet. SCDOT must finish collecting public input before any work begins.
