It’s the 19th Annual Boss Hog Cook-Off!

Friday, May 9th and Saturday, May 10th in Waynesboro

Head to picturesque Waynesboro for the 19th Annual Boss Hog State Championship Cook-Off. Sanctioned by the Kansas City Barbeque Society, this event will bring together competition cook teams and some of the best ribs, barbeque, brisket, and chicken ya ever did eat! Waynesboro may be the Bird Dog Capital of the World, but everyone’s barking about the Boss Hog.

Friday, May 9th from 5 p.m. to 11 p.m.

Saturday, May 10th from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

The event is sanctioned by the Kansas City Barbeque Society.  Boss Hog brings together the best competition cook teams with the best ribs, barbeque, brisket and chicken in the Southeast!

Boss Hog Cook-Off Competitions

On Friday, there is a King Of The Wing competition that’s free for all teams participating in the Boss Hog Cook-Off. This is a fun, casual time for sponsors, judges, and the general public. Wings will be provided, with no rules for prepping and/or cooking, as long as the wings remain at a safe temperature. Cash prizes will be awarded for 1st through 4th place.

Also on Friday, there’s the Anything Strawberry Competition. This is also a free competition for all teams competing in the cook-off. There are no rules for prepping and/or cooking for this competition. Cash prizes will be awarded.

The People’s Choice Competition happens on Saturday, May 10th from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Tickets are $15 per person in addition to your Saturday gate ticket. You will have a chance to taste test a variety of wings and help crown the winners in each category.
