Celebrating Five Years With Lola

Yesterday we celebrated five years with Lola. Lola was our first baby girl. Kelsey and I adopted her in the summer of 2018. We'd just lost another one of our fur babies, and Kelsey and I agreed our house was too quiet and we wanted to save another dog. So we went to the Columbia County Animal Shelter, just to look. We said it was just to look, but we knew what was really going to happen, we were leaving with a dog.

We'd met a couple of other dogs that day, but there was something about Lola, or Gypsi as she was known then. I just loved her face. We met her and she was the sweetest girl. We knew she was going home with us, and she did. It had been a while since both Kelsey and I had been around a puppy. So there were some things we had to get used to. There was some chewing of things, and a few accidents in the house, but we got through it.

She's been with us through a lot with us over the last five years. She's been with us through two moves. Lola has been with us as we've lost other pets. She's seen us have our first child. And she's still one of the brightest parts of our day. Every one who meets her loves her. She's such a happy girl and is always happy to see you.
