It All Starts With A Song
Some of the Country’s Biggest Songwriters Onstage In Evans, Georgia. The Songwriter’s Series will be at the Columbia County Performing Arts Center on Friday, March 8th. Songwriters on stage share their songs that have been major hits for country’s biggest stars. It will be one of the most unique music experiences to come to the area.
The Bluebird Cafe
In Nashville, they have the legendary Bluebird Café, which is known for songwriters nights. This will be the same thing except it’s a much larger venue and will have four songwriters on stage together.
The songwriters will tell the story behind the song, which is incredible to hear how a song comes together.
“If You’re Reading This”
The Songwriters Series will feature Brett and Brad Warren, The Warren Brothers, Liz Rose, and Lee Thomas Miller. While you may not know the names, you’ll definitely know the songs they have written. The Warren Brothers did have a recording contract years ago and were successful with some hits. Then they got Tim McGraw’s attention for their songwriting ability, and the rest is history.
The Warren Brothers have written McGraw songs like “If You’re Reading This”, “Highway Don’t Care”, and “Felt Good On My Lips.” Also, songs recorded by Toby Keith, “Red Solo Cup”, plus many #1 songs, including Jason Aldean, Little Big Town, Thomas Rhett, Lady A, and more.
“Tim McGraw”
If you’re going to write songs, you might as well write songs for Taylor Swift! Liz Rose is a Grammy Award-winning songwriter and wrote Taylor hits like “You Belong With Me,” “Teardrops On My Guitar,” “Tim McGraw,” and “White Horse”. She has also written songs for Blake Shelton, Tim McGraw, Dan and Shay, and more.
Rose received the 2012 ACM Award for Song of the Year in honor of Eli Young Band’s “Crazy Girl.” In 2015, she won Song of the Year at the Country Music Association awards and won the Grammy for Best Country Song for co-writing “Girl Crush” by Little Big Town.
“Whiskey And You”
We all know the huge hit “In Color” by Jamey Johnson. Lee Thomas Miller wrote that song, and he will be on the Songwriter’s Series, too. Lee is a 3-time Grammy award nominee who won ACM and CMA Song of the Year awards for “In Color”. He has also written songs for Brothers Osbourne, Chris Stapleton, Garth, George Strait, Scotty McCreery, and many more. He also was nominated for the 2018 ACM Song of the Year for “Whiskey and You” by Chris Stapleton.
This is going to be a fun night as we hear these talented, award-winning songwriters tell the story of how the song was written. I can’t wait to see this show at the Columbia County Performing Arts Center.
Hope to see y’all there!
