DubThe Big Run 5K is in the books! We did it! Cody and I completed the race yesterday and if I told you I wasn't sore today, I'd be lying. It was a pretty cool experience. Someone asked me this morning, would I do it again? You know I think I would, but I'd probably pick one in the Spring or the Fall. It was just a little warm yesterday.
There was an awesome turnout for The Big Run 5K this year. We heard around 500 people were there to run in person and more were doing the race virtually. It was held at SRP Park in North Augusta. The majority of the race was held on The Greenway in North Augusta, which I'd honestly never really been on before, so that was cool to check out.
People of all ages and skill levels were there yesterday. That was really cool to see. From younger kids to older people, everyone was there giving it their all. We saw moms running while pushing strollers. There was a guy doing the race in his wheelchair. That was really cool to see! He wasn't letting anything slow him down.
So how'd we do? Well out of 500 participants, Cody finished 162 and I finished 163. We ran the 3.1 miles in a little over 31 minutes. The thing I was proudest of is that I kept pace with Cody who runs a lot more than me. I ran when she ran, and I walked when she walked. That was my main goal, just don't get left behind.

Getting Ready To Run

What A Turnout!

Starting To Feel It A Little Bit

The sweat was pouring as you can see, but we were pushing through.
Not Going Down Yet

I found out yesterday, 3.1 miles is a lot farther than I thought it was. Especially when you're running it and especially in June.
We Did It!

We sprinted to the finish line and got our medals.
Celebrating With My Biggest Little Fan

I was starving after the 5K so Kelsey, me and Maddie went and ate afterward. I might've had a cold beverage or two also
