Cinco De Mayo Deals in The Augusta Area

Cinco de Mayo is coming up on Friday, May 5th.  There's a common misconception that Cinco de Mayo is Mexican Independence Day. But the day actually marks the Mexican army's victory over the French at the Battle of Puebla in 1862.  And while the battle itself wasn't a major win, it did have an impact that likely changed the history of the United States during the Civil War. In the years since that fateful day, the celebrations around the victory have evolved. The evolution may be due to the fact that many don't realize the significance of the day.  In the United States, the day is often observed with Mexican-themed décor, costumes, music, and food.

But you'll find it's not just Mexican restaurants that celebrate the day.  There are various places around the CSRA that will have Cinco de Mayo deals on Friday!

While the closest 7-Eleven is in Saluda, South Carolina, they will be celebrating with a deal!  You can get 10 mini beef tacos for $2 if you're a 7Rewards member. The deal is happening now through May 5th!

Applebee's is starting early with their Cinco de Mayo celebration, and extending through May 7th!  Now through May 7th you can get your choice of any Applebee's Handcrafted Burger, classic fries, and a fountain drink for just $10.99.

Buffalo Wild Wings is hosting a special happy hour on Cinco de Mayo,  They'll have $5 Strawberry Margaritas from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. and $4 chips and guacamole from 9 p.m. to close.

This week, Chipotle is offering free delivery with the code CINCO23. The code is good through May 5th both online and through the app.

Now through May 5th, Hooters had drink specials for dine-in customers: Dos Equis XX Big Daddy and Patron shots for $5, shots of el Jimador Silver and Bosscal Mezcal Tequila for $2, and half-off margarita pitchers.

When you make a purchase at participating Moe's Southwest Grill locations on Cinco de Mayo, you'll get double the points if you're a Moe's rewards member.  And the first 50 guests will get a free t-shirt.

Not the first place to come to mind when you think of Cinco de Mayo, but they'll have a special $5 Cinco Rita at participating locations. The limited-time cocktail has Sauza Gold Tequila, Triple Sec, sour, and margarita mix.
