I’ve got my pick for the College Football National Championship. Also, I’m going to pick several games for the last week of the regular season for the NFL. Can I just say how sad I am that football season is coming to a close? Monday night is the final college football game until Labor Day weekend! That’s just sad.

Thankfully, we’ll still have the NFL for a few more weeks. The playoffs will start next weekend. A lot of teams, including my Atlanta Falcons are still fighting to make it into the NFL playoffs. There are also a few teams who have already locked down their playoff spot, and they’re resting a lot of players this week.

The fact that there are a lot of key players who won’t be playing will definitely factor in to which teams I pick this week. I’ll pick the NFL games in a minute, but first let me give you my College Football National Championship pick. The National Championship is set for Monday night at 7:30 on ESPN between Michigan and Washington. Michigan is favored by 4.5 points.

I think this will be a really good game. Neither of these teams have been in the National Championship in quite sometime. In my opinion, this will be a pretty close game. I don’t think it’ll be a blowout like the Georgia/TCU game last year. I’m picking Michigan to win though. Gimme the Wolverines by a field goal or less.

Here are my NFL picks for this weekend.

  • The Pittsburgh Steelers @ The Baltimore Ravens

This game is Saturday afternoon at 4:30 on ABC and ESPN and Pittsburgh is favored by 3.5 points. Yeah I know that sounds weird, The Steelers, who are 9-7 are favored over the 13-3 Ravens. Here’s the thing, The Ravens have locked up the #1 seed in the AFC, and I think they’re resting pretty much the whole team this week. So it wouldn’t surprise me to see The Steelers win this week. They’re still fighting to make it into the playoffs. I’ll take Pittsburgh by 7

  • The Cleveland Browns @ The Cincinnati Bengals

This game is set for Sunday afternoon at 1pm on CBS and The Bengals are favored by 7. This is another game where one team is already in the playoffs and the other team has been eliminated already. The Browns are in and The Bengals are out. I think the Bengals will win, but will it really mean anything? Ehhh I don’t know.

  • The Atlanta Falcons @ The New Orleans Saints

This game is set for Sunday afternoon at 1pm on CBS and New Orleans is favored by 3. The NFC South is still wide open. The Saints, Falcons, and Tampa Bay are all still alive to win the division. If Tampa beats Carolina, they’ll win the division, however if Atlanta wins and Tampa loses, then they go to the playoffs. Do I want the Falcons to win? Yes. Do I think they will? Probably not, because thats what they do to me, they crush my hopes and dreams. I hope I’m wrong, but I think the Saints will win by 3.

  • The Minnesota Vikings @ The Detroit Lions

This game is set for Sunday afternoon at 1pm on FOX and Detroit is favored by 3.5 points. Even though they know that they’re already in the playoffs, the way Detroit is playing this season, I don’t see them just sitting back and resting. That doesn’t really seem like their style this year. Plus this is a big division rivalry game. I’m going to take The Lions by 7.

  • The Buffalo Bills @ The Miami Dolphins

This game is set for Sunday night at 8:20 on NBC and Buffalo is favored by 3. Right now both of these teams are in the playoffs, but whoever wins this game will win the division. Both teams want to win this game, neither team is resting anyone. I think this will be a close game, but I think Miami will pull it out at the end. I’ll take them by a field goal or less.
