The Kicks Wake Up Krew

These are the foods we won’t eat here in Augusta. We compiled this list from your Facebook comments and phone calls. There was a conversation that was started this morning about food we’d never eat, even if we were starving. Some of these are things we’ve actually tried, and will never try again. Also some are things we would never even think of trying.

Years ago at Arts In The Heart, my friend dared me to try pig feet. Of course, I’m not one to turn down a dare, so I did it. I can can tell you this, it was the grossest thing I’ve ever eaten in my life. I will never ever eat those again, I don’t care how hungry I might be. When I saw part of the hoof and I was out on that!

Some of the things that didn’t make the top five were pickled eggs as well as Vienna sausages. Brussell sprouts and beets also made the list, but fell outside the top five. A few people also said caviar as well. If you’d like to see all of the Facebook comments, just click here

Here is the top five foods we won’t eat, based on your calls and Facebook comments. These are in no particular order.

  • Pig's Feet

Apparently, I wasn’t alone. None of y’all wanted these nasty things either.

  • Liver

There are a bunch of different kinds of liver, and y’all don’t want any of them! I’ve lived 37 years on this planet, and I haven’t had liver yet. I’d be happy living another 37 without trying it.

  • Broccoli

This one surprised me a little bit. Its not my favorite, but I’ll eat it. Especially with rice. However it got several votes, so its on the list.

  • Sardines

I tried these for the first time last year, and I can say it was a one and done! The smell alone was enough for me.

  • Chitterlings

Chitterlings got the most votes hands down! They should never be consumed by anyone at anytime…EVER!
