It’s a big day in country music! Today we celebrate Taylor Swift. Born December 13, 1989, Taylor Alison Swift was born in Reading, Pennsylvania. We’ll start with a Taylor fact that starts with her birthday. Thirteen is her lucky number because she was born on the 13th.

Now Taylor to some may not be your cup of tea but what she has done in country music and pop music is just unheard of. In the music world few are known by just their first name, Reba, Garth, Madonna, Prince, and now, Taylor!

At the age 14 Taylor and her family moved to Nashville for Taylor to become a country artist. She signed a songwriting deal in 2004 and a recording contract with Big Machine Records in 2005. Her 2006 self-titled debut album made her the first female country singer to write or co-write a U.S. platinum-certified album entirely. AT AGE 14!

Taylor’s next albums, Fearless in 2008 and Speak Now in 2010 Dug into Taylor’s country pop sound. “Love Story” and “You Belong with Me” were the first country songs to top the U.S. pop and all-genre airplay charts. She experimented with rock and electronic styles on Red in 2012, which featured her first Billboard Hot 100 number-one song, “We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together”
