Kids' movies that actually scared us

Kids’ movies that actually scared us, but weren’t intended to, seemed to be a thing growing up in the 80’s.

And because kids’ movies are created by adults, I think they sometimes forget that kids are watching. But, nonetheless, we watched them. So we came up with a list of movies that were not intended to traumatize us but did. This article also agreed with us too.

More from the Kicks Wake Up Krew HERE.

Labyrinth

I’m sorry, but David Bowie’s mullet was the most terrifying thing about this movie. Also, the goblins. But, mostly Bowie’s mullet.

The Dark Crystal

Some of the characters were more terrifying than others. Another Jim Henson classic. Just kind of creepy.

The Secret of Nimh

This was one of my favorite movies as a kid. But the owl’s eyes in this movie gave me nightmares. I think the lead character being a cute mouse offset the scary characters.

Alice In Wonderland (1985)

The scene were ‘The White Queen’ turns into a sheep was incredibly creepy. But, still a classic and I definitely watched it more than once as a kid.

The Hugga Bunch

I loved this movie as a kid and had a couple of Hugga Bunch dolls. Did not realize until I became an adult how creepy they were.
