I’ve been going to Nashville yearly for Country Radio Seminar for many years. This year, it’s the second week in March, and it’s always a good time.
Let’s Go To Nashville.
Here are some of the memories I have from over the years. A Garth Brooks private show at a small bar on Broadway with about 150 of my friends from the industry. Garth would ask people in the bar their favorite Garth song and why. Then he would sing it. Fun Night!
Then there was the time I saw Mel Tillis, the legendary country singer, in the lobby of the hotel, and he was kind enough to take a picture with me. So many memories, the 14-year-old girl who walked on stage and sang “Blue” and everyone got very quiet and couldn’t believe how great her voice was. That was Lee Ann Rimes.
Going to a studio with Dierks Bently to hear the new album he was working on. That was the first time I heard “What Was I Thinkin” The entire album was great!
Keith Urban sang for about 20 of us in his hotel suite at the Renaissance Hotel while his wife, Nicole, was asleep in the other room. Yes, she slept through it!
Me hopping on a police motorcycle on Broadway. Yes, I asked permission! HA!
Hanging out with Randy Houser in a small private bar on Printers Alley in Nashville. I love this guy’s voice. Also, running into Kenny Chesney, sitting alone, having breakfast in the corner at the hotel restaurant… I heard someone say, “Hey Tee,” and there he was. Only in Nashville!
Nashville is such a great city; there’s so much to see! I’ll be there this year the week of March 13th, and I’ll keep you updated on what we do and who we run into!
