Miranda Lambert – Her Birthday Is Today And Here’s Why We Should Be Friends

Today is Miranda Lambert's birthday!  She turns 40 today, but let's be honest... she doesn't look like she's 40! I've been a big fan of Miranda's for a long time, and I've determined if the opportunity ever presented itself, we could definitely be friends!

While I had heard Miranda songs on the radio for a little while, it wasn't until I was in college that I went to see her in concert.  At that point, it was maybe 2007.  That was still pretty early in her career.  And I saw her at a small venue in Atlanta with some friends.  But that was when "Kerosene" was still pretty big for her.

She was nowhere near the superstar she is today.  But I loved her edgy songs.  She just seemed like such an awesome, strong woman.

Honestly, I haven't had a chance to see Miranda in concert since! But that doesn't mean I'm any less of a fan.  And given the opportunity, I would definitely go see her again.  I know some people have their issues with her, like the drama about the picture at her concert most recently.  But I still love her.  We all have our moments, but we aren't all in the public eye like celebrities and artists are.  Anything can easily be taken out of context or blown out of proportion.

While I love most of her music, I would say my favorite album from Miranda is "The Weight Of These Wings," which came out in 2016.  On that album is the song, "We Should Be Friends."  And listening to that song, I definitely thought, "YES, we should!" There's also a song on there called "Well Rested" that is a really powerful song (see video below).  I just love how she has such a range with fun songs, kick butt songs, and also emotional songs.

Today (November 10) is Miranda's birthday. And mine just happens to be 2 days later (November 12).  That means we're both Scorpios.  I feel like that's gotta mean something, right?

If you've listened to the Kicks Wake Up Krew, or followed me on social media, chances are you know I'm a HUGE dog lover.  My dogs are my babies.  And of course, Miranda is also a dog lover too and has a huge heart for rescuing animals.

Pink is my favorite color.  And while I don't know for sure what Miranda's actual favorite color is... she does have a store called "The Pink Pistol." So I'm just going to assume!

I've always said if I won the lottery, I'd buy a big farm, fence in a large area, and rescue as many dogs as I could. And apparently, one of the first things Miranda did when she made it big? Bought a big farm in Oklahoma!

The motto of Miranda's hometown, Lindale, Texas, is "Good Country Living." I grew up in a small town... and while I don't know that we had a "motto" necessarily.  But Barnesville is known as the "Buggy Capital of the South."
